Finally, someone asks the colour question. If she mentions that she’s noticed people’s magics often seem to be based on their colours, Kaylia might be a genius(!)
Why so blue, blue lady? Sounds like Ember is riding along the edge of a cliff, dangerously close to falling to her demonic self. If draining the dark magic from a fiend was a simple feat then the strike teams guarding the settlement would have tried it, right? Unless Ember knows something they don’t.
From yesterday to today ive been able to read the whole comic. It was an amazing read and you really have a lot of talent. As someone who struggles with intrusive thoughts i felt very seen. Thank you.
It sounds like Ember is trying to apply what she’s learned from Elane about magic not supported by gods to this problem. That isn’t a widely used magic type when gods backing a spell is so much easier to use for most beings in this world.
Personally I’d be concerned where that energy would go after it was drained from the Fiend. While removing the magic from one person to another something may break up the spell, It sounded like the nature of the magic type stays the same. So that’s a whole lot of dark magic that could glomp onto Embers already partially curropted soul.
So Ember needs to find a way to siphon’s the magic energy. Hopefully there is time to set it up, since I assume she doesn’t have such a circle ready on hand to use. Of course, being a magic circle even if she draws it lets say where they are since they are safe – someone will need to lure it to the spot so she can activate it. Essentially someone has to be bait and I doubt Ember will let Kaylia do that. Maybe she can meet up with Callum or another member of the guard for assistance?
Ember also gets to experience that awkward feeling when kids address you as an adult (Mrs. Ember) and in your mind you’re the same person you were as a child. After that comes the “wow, you’re so old” when they find out your age.
If you hang in there long enough, you’ll make it to the stage where you realize young adults look at you the same way as they look at their own parents. Then neither kids nor adults think of you as one of them.
