Some fun poses and lighting in this one! Every nurse knows a little light does wonders for brooding.
Fan stuff! Clay Ember.

Well Veera wasn’t trying to kill Bernin in the first place so she had to go easy on the curses.
However, I wonder what the current status of Sil, Callum, and Gale are; since they did not get off as easy.
I agree with Vicar, Veera let Bernin off on easy street. I’m gonna guess that the others got a tour of downtown. (salutes) Well it was nice knowing those three.
“Lucky” or “Shitwrecked”?
Also, really wanting to know who all survived that. I’m guessing Garm’s out
For those who weren’t keeping score!
Bernin: Heartburn and a mean talking to.
Callum: Severe Facial and upper-arm lacerations, major bleeding.
Gale: Ice spear thtough the gut, ice shards to the face and neck, fell with a disconcerting thud.
Sil: Weird intangible-magic through the heart/lungs. Likely internal lacerations.
But most importantly, Sil was carried away by Cormac. Everyone else was likely left there and bleeding heavily. So Sil is probably either extennin or badly injured, while Gale and Callum probably both got “extennin”… Gale especially dropped hard and was never heard from again.
Then again, Hillel might have gotten a strike team in with a healer. I mean, we all pegged the commissar as inconsequential, but you never know…
Also of interest. White beads seem to be for healing, and blue ones help with curses or hostile magic? Sil had a blue one which was use to try to stop bernin from burnin’. The medical staff only have white ones.
And I am guessing that Bernin is remembering the “message” and thinking that this is a case of “skill not luck” except the skill involved is Veera’s ability to overcome her natural inclination to just kill everyone.
I wonder why Veera held off on killing him was it because she maybe had some sort of twisted affection toward him or maybe to send a message that demons are more powerful than tenguard had previously suspected.
Flint wants his son back unharmed(mostly) and made some kind of deal with the other demons for it, that’s my bet.
I very strongly suspect that Veera was specifically hunting Bernin. As such, she didn’t “spare” him so much as she went out there with the intention to only rough him up a bit and did more than she intended when his patrol turned up and needed to be dealt with. No doubt there are lots of patrols, getting rid of one doesn’t accomplish much, and it was an unnecessary hassle until they chose to get in her business.
From what Veera actually said, it seems that it is all Voice shenanigans. Voice being willing to go all social darwinist on the Memeelis line but it would be better if they could amount to something useful…
Then again, Veera could have been full of it. It might be that Flint just asked her to get the punk to go home, and that she figured mind games were the best way…
