Cormac is such a downer.
It’s great to have Sil back in the comic! It didn’t hit me until I started giving her color that I haven’t really drawn her in a while.

It’s great to have Sil back in the comic! It didn’t hit me until I started giving her color that I haven’t really drawn her in a while.
So she is on double healrings now? Was that all she could get at the outpost or is this a policy change?
And congratulations on the cliffhanger! Major characters have died! Which ones? Find out next week! Same Bloodline Time! Same Bloodline channel!
I refuse to blame Cormac for being a downer! He opened by praising the skills of the healers. It was Bernin who brought up people dying. And what made Bernin think that Sil would die? Yes, a skin-removal spell to the lungs is plenty lethal, but its lethality isn’t very visible…
Do we get to meet the strike team? Will they be hunting Ember later?
I can’t really think of any comments on Sil’s civilian outfit, but I do note that her tail is much more impressive than Ember’s.
So we got some confirmation that either Callum or Gale or both didn’t make it. I’m have a feeling that Gale probably kicked the bucket since he was the first to go down. It’s ashame I kind of wanted to know more about him since his character page was filled up. Perhaps we can hope out that they are in a coma instead? …probably not.
Callum was still alive when they left; so his chances are better. Unless Verra decided to finish him off after Bernin went down.
Even though Bernin was distant with his group he was shedding some tears as he made his stand for Cormac and Sil to escape. I am guessing the weight of losing those he’s been traveling with what I assume a few years, still caught him. Even trying to be distant; it is still hard not to form some connection to others you fight, travel, and break bread with for a few (3?) years.
Also congrats on the 200th comic!
There was something in his eye
I’m thinking sadness, with a pinch of guilt.
I’m quite sure that Bernin is aware that in a way this was his fault. If he listened to Cormac and not charge in there head first perhaps Gale, and Callum would still be fine. It’s like they say “You never know what you have until it’s gone.”
Although if Bernin did listen to Callum at that time it is still only a matter of time before Veera herself would’ve forced a confrontation, but the question would’ve been would his companions been involved? A lot of these thought are probably going through Bernin’s head right now.
Also Cormac is probably going to have to lecture Bernin about his recklessness, and how it lead to what I am assuming right now is the death of one or more members of the group. I also wonder what kind of punishment if any at all Cormac is going to have to deal out to Bernin for his actions?
Congrats on 200
I just finished reading this comic and I’m hooked! I can’t wait to see more!
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it ^^
Okay I know it’s sad and some characters are 99% most likely dead… but dang Sil looks cute in that outfit.
Keepin’ it positive!
Did you know that Sil translates to Soul in Dovahzul?(skyrim’s dragon language)
Skyrim is not the only Elder Scrolls game to use the Dragon Language. Dovahzul is used sparsely in the other games too.
That checks out to my sensibilities, but still seems inappropriate.
Skyrim is “the dragon game” and thus is the most relevant source.
Skyrim, to me, feels to be the most widely recognised of the games, so is easier to cite than other games or even the series as a whole.
It is to blame for excessively popularising a certain three syllables. This is about as much excuse as anyone needs…
If a component of a culture becomes popularised, the participants in that culture really can’t complain when it gets misused by people not otherwise involved in that culture. *rant about certain religious views mostly resisted*
So everyone is correct! Woo! Gold stars all around!!
Of course, if we looked for correlations in every language, fictional or otherwise, for every word, then we would be here all day, and likely end up with little of substance. For example, Sil seems less ascetic than I would expect from the typical member of a group with a reciprocated “kill on site” policy with the forces of darkness. But then, perhaps that is exactly what makes her soulful. Perhaps being spiritual results in possessing less spirit? Quantifying something can lead to appreciating it less… Thus we see an example of how most anything can have correlations, even polar opposites…
But hey, trivia is fun! More! More I say!
I agree with Vicar a bit: Cormac has every right to vent any frustrations over his losses towards Bernin. That selfishness for demonslaying directly led to Gale’s/Callum’s/both their deaths, and nearly killed Sil.
“Again?” Ho dear.
