His mom is gonna kill him.
In other news, I’ve partnered up with my friend Infinitedge to make a Discord channel! It’s a chatroom where fans of our work can chat with each other. I considered having just a focused, official Bloodline server, but I feel this will be better. [Link]
I still cant understand why, he would DARE become a soldier, a grievous injury high profession, one with plenty of ‘scaring’ risk associated with it, if his mother WOULD kill him for getting one.
. . . besides, she can’t possibly be as bad at parenting as Flint.
Well Callum’s mother is a general, so it kind of pressures him to serve in the military as well. At least it’s good to see Callum is alive.
Why is he so concern about a scar? They give character, and this one has a interesting story behind it. Though I wonder if his mother is coming to check up on him. I’m sure news about his encounter with a greater demon. and near death experience probably reached his mother by now. Though I wonder is all of Callum’s brother serving the military as well?
So now this leaves Gale. The second to go down, and perhaps taking one of the more nasty hits. When Callum went down Gale did go into a bit of a frenzy or at least something snapped. Was it because he really cares about his comrades? Or maybe it could have been something else like a repressed memory resurfacing? Maybe a combination of both?
Gale’s interactions we’ve seen so far with the group has been a bit hostile; though that might be his way of showing he cares. Then again being orphaned from a demon attack probably came with some traumatic memories.
I was going to make a joke about Cormac not wearing pants in the previous page, but I have legitimate concerns about Bernin’s attire on this one!
You mean the possibility that they fell down around his ankles and he just walked right over them without a care? That concern?
Don’t worry so, we’ll never see it, thank goodness.
First off: A couple typos.
Balloon #3: wait a second is missing its “a”
Balloon #5: a comma is missing after “down”.
Fixed, thanks.
Now that I think of it where is Hillel? He wasn’t involved in the fight with Veera so he should be alive and well. Then again is Hillel even trained in combat as the groups chronicler? I would assume so since traveling with a patrol is dangerous given what they do.
I would’ve though he would at least be with Cormac and Sil to visit Bernin when he regained consciousness. Then again Bernin was out for a few days so he could be doing paper work on reports of there encounter with Veera, and possibly requesting replacements for members out of commission. Not just for Gale, but Callum’s injury might prevent him from going on patrol’s for a bit.
I think that he might be watching Gale right now, if he survived that is.
…if he did survive, he’s probably trying to crawl out a window right now, Hillel might be needed there.
Perhaps. If Gale is still alive he’ll probably be causing a ruckus since the doctors will be insistent for him to rest. Too much peace will make Gale itching for a fight after all. That or they’ll have Gale strapped down to the bed so he can’t run around instigating a fight.
Callum’s expression is terrific! You did a great job drawing the different angles in this scene. I love the red mane-like hair as well.
Thanks!
“Oh no! My face has a small scar! I mean, sure, I’m alive, but that’s not important! I have a small scar on my face!!”
Priorities, you need to fix them.
Yes, but now I’m interested in how is Callum’s mother going to act? Callum could be overreacting, but there could be some truth in his reaction to such a small injury.
Or if his mother is too busy since being a general does have many responsibilities; perhaps we’ll meet one of Callum’s brothers. It would be interesting in seeing their relationship, and if some of his brothers changed over the years since he last saw them. Also having some brotherly hazing about Callum’s overreaction would be fun too.
I kind of wonder is Callum’s mother the strict military type, or overly cheery/concern etc. Now that I think about it Callum has four older brothers, and a mother who is a general. I haven’t seem any mention of his father. Does Callum even have a father?
Well, I guess they will just need to all go escort Callum to someplace that specialises in nature magic…
One week later, and I’m still laughing at your comment. Its hilarious.
Wait, you made that comment yesterday. Must have thought the same thing for a week. Still laughing though.
If he’s old enough to be out on a patrol, what say does his mother have in what little scars he might get?
