I really think you did a good job on this page! The only question I have is, what happened in the last panel? Did Cormac break her shield?
Sorry for the lack of clarity! That shield is sort of like the shield she used before, it’s made out of sharp shards of ice. In the last two panels, she’s firing the shards at Cormac.
Ah, ok. I was about to say, that must have been a pretty strong sword! ^_^
Hm. I mostly read it right, except I thought she was launching the shield at him as one big jagged mass… I think one more panel would help, and it may make a good layout for the first panel of the next strip: We see over Veera’s shoulder, as Cormac reacts, and the shards are embedding themselves into the ground around him.
Aside, I really like Veera’s creativity with magic O:J
I would actually go the other way, having one less panel by converting the bottom panel to a clone of the fifth panel to show more clearly where barrier has moved relative to Veera and show Cormac’s face evaluating the prospect of a wall of blades approaching.
But looking at it and thinking, it is quite obvious that the wall is cracking into shards on the sixth panel and looking at the hand position, relative position, and bursting dark aura, Veera is obviously pushing it away. So the action is visible, if perhaps not completely clear, and I really must commend the author’s skill in general.
On the topic of Bursting Dark Auras, is anyone else loving that one lock of Veera’s hair that, no matter what Veera is up to, insists that showtunes are fun and that there might be more to life than the slow, inevitable decline into worthless dust?
