Run Ember! If you fight here in the library, innocent civilians might get caught in the crossfire!!! Maybe you could make it to an orphanage or a hospital? Nobody likes sneaky brats and the diseased.
…
Am I taking the “Ember likes books” thing too far?
You’d think the librarian might be getting concerned at this point with the destroyed candle, slamming a book shut to crush a spell inside it, and a confrontation with a guard.

*NOTE: The character I am introducing is non-canon and this does not have anything to do with the story beside the current setting so all things that happen in this story is just what id like to happen NOT what will or could happen, just wanted to let you know. Now, ON TO THE STORY!!!*
A tall, black-furred Tennin dressed in full black with pants, steel toe boots, and a trench coat walks up. The only things about him that are not black is the moon white fur on his front, his eyes(the color of lapis lazuli), and one silver ring on his left ring finger.
“Hello sir, do you have a problem with this young girl?” Asks the Tennin
“Yes, I am to bring her in” Responds Denrim with firmness
“On what charge?” Questioned the mysterious Tennin
“For…being suspected of being a demon” Denim said almost reluctantly
The Tennin then casually looks at Ember intently, after a minute of awkward silence the Tennin asked Ember:
“Young girl, are you a full demon?” Seeming to want a specific answer
“I’m not a demon at all I’m just a-” Ember attempts to reply
“I didn’t ask you if you were a demon, I asked if you were a FULL demon” He interrupts
‘He knows about my demon blood, he must be a reader’ Ember thinks and then says this:
“No I am not a full demon, I am just a Tennin trying to fix her demon blood problem” She answers
“That is not all correct”
Denim and Ember both look at her quizzically
“You are part demon part Tennin, correct?” The Tennin asked
“Yes, but the demon part of me is not me” She responds
“I didn’t say it was all of you, the half Tennin and half demon blood running through your veins is all yours, you are not its”
Ember slightly taken aback by this asked:
“But then why is it trying to take control?”
“Because you are letting it scare you, you trying to get rid of it shows your fear of it and gives it strength. If you were to show it that you are not afraid and that you are the *ahem* “Alpha” then you can control it and probably unlock your magic powers”
Ember is just sitting there stunned, after a minute or so she finally says:
“I never thought about it that way, thanks, after I leave the city and attempt to do that right away”
“Hold on, who said YOU were leaving and who are you and how do you know so much?” Denrim interjects
“Oh, right, how rude of me, I forgot to introduce myself, I am Rex at your service. For your second question, I know by experience. I, on the other hand had to figure it out on my own and it wasn’t that easy, so to make sure someone else doesn’t have to go through that I search around for anyone like me and help them”
While they have been talking Embers demon blood had spoken to her and one thing it said stood out ‘How do you know you are even strong enough to control me?’. Ember, now a little freaked out, asks:
“Umm, Mr. Rex could I ask you something?”
“Just Rex is fine, what do you need?” Rex kindly replied
“I was just wondering, how do you know if I’m strong enough to control my demon blood?” She asked
“Because, you have fended off your demon blood for years and you are still the same, well not completely you are older, wiser, and smarter, but the demon blood hasn’t effected you. That’s how I know you are strong enough”
*Out of story comment*
Yeah I know this is a long comment and most of you probaby won’t read it. I just got the idea from a friend. Hope you liked the mini story and it will continue when the next finished comic comes out. Hoped you enjoyed and make sure to support W0lfmare.
Yes I probably messed up on some grammar and some lines probably don’t make sense but this my first time writing a story of this length so please take it easy on me. (Sorry for it being really long)
Come to think of it I’ll just make up some fan stories, some alternate version of the situation. Sorry if I seemed a bit like a jerk I was just a bit excited, next chapterm I’ll just make a fun mini story.
Quick librarian come and save the day! Yeah… he probably stepped out a while back so Denrim and the others can confront Ember. If someone with authority asks you to step away you probably would to avoid any trouble even if it is someone with Denrim’s reputation. Though it looks like Denrim was just watching Ember for some time. Probably to try and gauge what Ember can actually do.
Since it is only Denrim alone chances are if there are other exits Ken and Mence probably has them covered. Though I do wonder not counting the librarian was Ember the only other person in the library? The sun is up so I would assume there would be a few other visitors. Perhaps some other non-reader spellcasters also reading up on magic? I would say civilians, but the librarian mention specifically readers and approved magic users so I’m not sure if this place is a public library. Unless Ember was so engrossed in her studies that she didn’t notice someone evacuate the other visitors. Ember didn’t seem to notice Denrim right outside the library watching her progress as she seems a bit surprised to see him here.
I would guess if anyone is to help Ember it would be Elane. As the library didn’t really seem very far from her place, and as a reader she also probably can tell that someone is with Ember nearby. Or maybe the librarian really just stepped away for a moment and is oblivious to all this, and once he returns he might kick Denrim out assuming this confrontation gets a bit out of hand and the books gets caught in the crossfire. A couple of singe books and a large mess would definitely anger any librarian.
I would say sort of. If Denrim’s reputation is really infamous as it is the librarian may just stay out of the way mostly on the request of Elane. As I would assume it was Elane who probably asked the librarian to look at the sign in sheet to find Ember’s name, and spread Ember’s name and physical description to the guard, and the librarian since chances are Ember might returning may be high.

He really IS sadistic, his lines keep making me think that he’s really an agent of the Salavere family. Don’t know why though.
She can’t catch a break the poor soul.
Who is Ken? I went back several pages and saw nobody with that name.
Ken is the red-haired city guard who try to restrain Ember for Denrim before she struggled her way free, leaving Ken flat on his back in the alley.
Ken is the red-haired goon, name mentioned here: http://w0lfmare.xepher.net/comic/bloodline-226
I’m ashamed I missed this chapter when it was release ;-;

Also the Tennin is a guy I just miss-clicked at one point and it said her not he, just wanted to let you know.

The lighting from the door is a nice touch.
I guess it’s time to ask Denrim to show us something neat.
It has occurred to me, that the librarian may, in fact, be on Dinrim’s side here.
I would say sort of. If Denrim’s reputation is really infamous as it is the librarian may just stay out of the way mostly on the request of Elane.
