Aw, they both are arguing like a couple. Denrim doesn’t seem too much of a jerk; at least for now. This really doesn’t seem like the first time this has happen as they seems to be quite loudly bickering in front of the other guards. I imagine that when they first started dueling in public they where probably brought in to meet the general to find out what exactly was going on. I wouldn’t be surprised if their duels accidentally caused some collateral damage at some point causing the general to step in.
I hope Ember doesn’t do anything rash. While it doesn’t hurt to have a exit plan assuming things go south, but at least see how things are playing out before attempting a sudden escape. Ember may now be able to cast a few spells, but she really need to not let it get to her head. She must still remember her duel with Denrim as it did happen earlier in the same day. Except the fact that at that time Ember really had to do something as prior to Elane arrival she was on her own. Trusting Denrim may not seem like a good idea for Ember, but Elane really does seem to be the “dominate” one of the two. At least when they aren’t slinging spells at each other.
This does make me wonder is Denrim only nasty when he wants to get Elane’s attention? Though he does seem a bit infamous with the Quelladar so that makes me wonder. I do wonder depending on how bad this meeting goes does that mean Denrim have to be nice to Ember to stay on Elane’s “good” side. If something like that does happen maybe we can get Denrim’s viewpoint of their relationship.
Most likely, as it is probably screaming at Ember that she is doomed, and she is as good as dead unless she lets the Voice take over. Or perhaps it wants to push Ember to do something rash to get her in a larger predicament then she is in now. This way it would try and better justify allowing it to take control.
My only issue with this is the large windows. Too easy to just lob something in there, like a burning jar of pitch or something, and when a castle is made primarily to defend, that’s a point of weakness. Should also be taller than the outer walls, so that archers can fire down on them but the angle isn’t good to judge if it is. Otherwise, a moat and drawbridge inside of the walls is a great defensive feature, so bonus points :D.
Sorry for the critique, I watch too much Shadiversity.
Haha nice, Shadiversity inspired many of my design choices for this castle. We’ll likely see more flashy castles in the future, but I wanted this one to be simple.

I can imagine the red voice starting to creep in on that last page.
