Ember playing the buffer between Keine and Callum. Gotta keep the impression a good one!
Also, we’re half way through pre-orders for Bloodline volume 2! Here’s a little glimpse of some of the extra stuff:
There’s also going to be a page from one of Ember’s books on magic! (and 3 other pages). If you’re interested, don’t miss out! I really need your support, and I hope this is enough to earn it ^^

Crisis delayed, but Ember senses the aura of Plot surrounding Callum. This isnt over.
Did they lie to Callum about the healer to get him to take his new assignment without objection? Bernin’s new friend seemed sure Callum wasn’t coming back. He will certainly raise some eyebrows then by reporting in “hey, I’m all cured now!”
I doubt it. He said that the healer makes rounds here, which would imply a fair bit of regularity. If Callum’s whole “here for healing” thing isn’t secret, and I have ni reason to believe it would be, then he would have explained his presence enough for the locals to know that something was odd about his story about meeting someone who does rounds here who isn’t known to do rounds here.
It feels more likely that they either expect something to happen to the *ahem* “late” healer; they expect something to happen to the guards at the town where Callum is a guard(and one at less than his best at that) and Ember’s old friends were “visiting”; or both and maybe more…
Now she needs to use a rolled up newspaper, “Bad Callum, we’re supposed to be friendly with the locals.”
Perhaps the healer was intentionally told to come very late as Callum is a son of a general; they may have wanted Callum away from Bernin as it seems the situation sounds like it is going to get very dangerous. Battle regular Ferals is one thing, but a greater demon might be a little to dangerous to have him participate in.
Keine in a way almost reminds me of Denrim except against Tennin. He really has a disdain to them even if they don’t mean any harm. Very similar to Denrim’s attitude to non Tennins. I’m sure Ember is probably just a curios about Keine’s hatred to Tennin and if he has a problem with them why is he in a Tennin town. Perhaps Keine might spill the beans of Echo’s former plan of raiding this town.
Well Ember is going to have to give a bit of a scolding to Keine as this really could’ve ended badly if it was someone more akin to Denrim. If Echo insist on coming along with Ember and might bring the others with them – babysitting Keine so he doesn’t provoke the wrong Tennin is going to be more trouble then it’s worth. Well at least we will get to know why Keine really hates the Tennin to the point of possibly starting an unprovoked fight. If the Tennin really did something heinous I wonder why Ariah is the complete opposite of Keine? As since they live in a pack they probably had the same general experience with the Tennin.
