my guess is she used them to study his moves and test his strength, and make him waste energy. I also hope we get to go back to see how Ember is doing as last we saw she was being hunted by the thing that just got here, I think. Like I understand keeping the action going while its being drawn, but I do worry about everyone else and whats happening to them while this fight is happening.
