Bloodline 424
Veera arrives on the scene at last. How do these two measure up?
Most everything has been ordered for the book 3 Kickstarter stuff! Just waiting for things to come in as I also prepare for Anthrocon on July 4th.
By the way, you’ll find me at table I23 in the dealer’s den! Here’s a convenient map: https://www.anthrocon.org/dealers-list-2024
See ya next time!
Beautiful page! So many things to consider here. Is Veera being chivalrous toward Ramiel out of a sense of honor, or does she simply not want to risk a direct showdown at this time? Ostensibly, she completed her objective of sizing up and goading Bernin.
Veera could have left her sister to fend for herself – the demons didn’t hesitate to sacrifice the others in this offensive. Does she care about Tavara, or does Kence require her to look after his more powerful assets?
There is another thing to consider. Is Veera really less powerful than her boastful sister or is her reserved nature give her siblings an unearned sense of superiority to her.
Even then, what good is power if Veera can just outmaneuver her more impulsive sister. Listening to Veera tell her sister “No” almost gives the impression more powerful or not, Veera is the adult in the room when their father isn’t around, and Veera will put her foot down if she needs to.
How do they measure up? I’m guessing that since Veera managed to pull the leash on her sister, Veera is the stronger of the two and the leader. Of course, I could be wrong.
“The holy knight’s theme music is still playing, and there’s only 5 minutes left in the episode. We retreat, or we go out in a blaze of glory. I’m not going to give him the satisfaction.”
“Its funny how you talk about him showing off when all you did was ride around on your pet. If you thought you could have killed him, you should have worked in tandem with your beast.. but instead your lounged about and managed to get it killed. You lost. Now get up and get walking…”
Greater demons I assume aren’t exactly plentiful or expendable. Losing two very quickly and the abomination is probably enough for Veera to have the cards to call for a retreat. after her assessment. Though Ramiel doesn’t look like he is going to let them go, but a simple reminder there is still a whole city under attack and there might be more of those abominations around like the village Ember is in and they can really use his help to take them down, before the casualties both civilians and soldiers get too high.
If you have access to page customization options regarding the link text, maybe consider making the visual difference between a clickable [Next] [Last] and a non-clickable one a tad clearer. I check regularly to see if the next page is up (I know you have a post schedule are are generally up front with delays, no pressure) and it’s often hard to tell if those links are active or not.
If you make the inactive link text color for those buttons closer to the background color, the change to a more visible color will pop more when the next page is available. ^_^
I’m looking at moving Bloodline to it’s own website and upgrading everything in the near future. I’ll keep this in mind!
