Bloodline 242
Another WIP this week! The previous page is almost done, but I wanted to make sure I had something to post for today. I’ll be finishing up the packaging of the rest of the Bloodline books tonight, and shipping them all out tomorrow!

Why she’s acting like hammy villain, if she’s mere soldier that has nothing to do with anything?
Are you talking about the female with a hood on who just showed up, or the Male guard whose been getting on Ember’s case this whole time? It’s hard to tell.
Wait, Denrim was male all along?
Yes, Denrim is a guy. One way to tell is so far it seems all female readers seem to have their blue reader mark under their left eye while all males have it under their right. Just look at Sil, Elane and Ember. They all have the reader mark under their left eye; while Denrim, and Ahrem have theirs under their right. Of course, I could be wrong and the marks are all just coincidentally like that in the same location, but until then this is what it seems like.
“Hammy Villains” are just jerks who don’t care if they get into trouble, because they think that they can get out of it, or that it won’t be too much trouble for them to deal with. Denrim is a bit cleverer than most “hammy” villains, he’s sensible enough to back off when he tried to corner Ember before. Here, he’s counting on both previous experience with dueling Elane, and his ‘likely’ high level of spell based combat to get what he wants.
…. KILL VILLAINOUS TENIN!!! KILL!!!
These two have clearly been getting on each other’s nerves for a long time now, and that would still make sense for a spy to be interested in how good the best curse breakers are among the Tenin. I wonder how often they’ve dueled in the past, and who won.
friendly warning – lots of typos in the sketch
Wow, I’ve been late recently, I need to get here earlier so I can, uhhh, think about it longer? Well anyway Ember needs to take off while she can (if she can anyway).
So the two do have history with each other, and not a very good one. Denrim mentions “another duel” so the two fought before? I wonder what it was about back then? Also from Denrim’s dialogue he put curses on Elane before in the past? Was it during their previous duel? I don’t think the city looks kindly to duels/fighting in public areas unless because Denrim is a reader so they make some exceptions for him.
I do wonder does Elane have the ability to arrest Ember? I assumed she was just a healer not really in any service in the authorities. I’m surprised that Denrim wasn’t reassigned for putting numerous curses on Elane, or maybe he was which is why he supposedly was not to come in the southern district/has no jurisdiction.
Also Denrim as mentioned he had been trying to get Elane’s attention by doing this; it makes you wonder what does the Tennin higher up do if one reader is causing problems with another? Denrim obviously has issues with any demons, or at the very least looks down to anyone with demon ties like the Quelladar. I doubt Denrim just picks on Elane just because she a curse remover, but perhaps in the past she helped numerous Quelladars maybe in removing curses placed on by Denrim which painted a target on her back? I do hope we get to see a into both Elane’s and Denrim’s past. It would be interesting to see was Denrim always like this or did something happen to him that pushed him to be that way? As well as what was the cause of their disdain with each other. Or it all could be a ruse as others pointed out to gain Ember’s trust.
Wow, Denrim sounds a little out of control. Why did Elane ask him for help in the first place? I’m guessing she didn’t have any choice.
I just received the book, by the way, it looks beautiful.
Good to hear!
